Compact Density Fibreboard (CDF) Specifications
Compact Density Fibreboard (CDF) is a highly compacted wood-fibre panel, often specified with a black core and decorative faces. It is a different construction from paper-based compact laminate.
Thickness2–35 mm CDF core thickness. For decorative-faced boards, specify the finished-panel thickness with your selected surface.
Size1220 × 2440 mm; 2100 × 2800 mm; 1830 × 3660 mm; 1830 × 2440 mm; 2440 × 3660 mm; 1830 × 4200 mm. Full sheets or cut-to-size CDF panels, with drilling and routing to your drawing.
DensityCDF nominal density in kg/m³ is specified for the selected board and thickness. Use that value with the final dimensions when planning component weight and packing.
GlueResin-bonded wood-fibre core. The selected facing and bonding system are identified with the complete panel construction.
Formaldehyde gradeTell us your destination and emission standard. We provide the available product information for the CDF board offered in your quotation.

Is CDF the same as compact laminate?
They have different cores. CDF uses wood fibres and resin. Compact laminate, also called compact HPL or phenolic compact laminate, is built from layers of resin-impregnated paper. Compare the actual construction, finish and intended use when choosing between them.
What does second-generation compact board mean?
Some Chinese suppliers use this trade name for fibreboard-based alternatives to paper-based compact laminate. For an export order, use the actual material name and specification: CDF for the selected compact wood-fibre board, together with its core, surface and dimensions.
How does CDF differ from HDF or Black MDF?
HDF describes high density fibreboard; Black MDF describes colour through the MDF core. CDF is selected as a compact fibreboard construction. Compare density, thickness, surface, machining and required performance using the actual products.
Can I use CDF in bathroom furniture or partitions?
Describe the location, humidity, splash exposure and cleaning routine. We help choose the moisture grade and finished construction, including edges, openings and fixings. For continuous wet exposure, ask for a panel specifically designed for that use.
Can I order a fire-retardant CDF option?
Send the required fire classification, destination and intended panel finish. We review the available CDF construction and supporting information for that specification before quoting.
Can you supply cut and machined CDF parts?
Yes. Send the part drawing, sizes, holes or profiles, visible edges, quantities and finish. We help plan the sample, machining and packing for your assembly sequence.
