What is Sanded MDF?
Sanded MDF is a raw MDF panel whose faces are sanded during manufacture to create a smooth, consistent surface for later processing. Buyers should define whether both faces require the same acceptance standard, the intended sanding sequence or grade, acceptable visible marks, cleanliness, thickness tolerance and the next process. A smooth factory face can support melamine pressing, painting, veneering, laminating and other downstream work, but it is not automatically paint-ready: sawn edges, routed profiles, dust removal, primer or adhesive compatibility and a representative production trial remain part of the finished system. An 18 mm 1220 × 2440 mm sheet at 680–750 kg/m³ has a calculated net weight of approximately 36.4–40.2 kg before packaging.
