Buyer FAQ
Both describe trim at the wall-floor junction; skirting is common UK terminology and baseboard is common US terminology. Moulding and molding are also regional spellings. Use the actual section drawing, dimensions, lengths and supplied finish to identify the product for your order.
Share a physical sample or a dimensioned cross-section, plus photographs of the visible profile and its adjoining parts. Identify the section dimensions, curves, finish and acceptable variation. We review a representative machined sample against the agreed drawing before repeating that profile.
Choose the supplied surface condition with the profile and quantity. The quotation states whether the trim is raw machined, sanded or primed, and identifies any included coating. Review the actual sample with the topcoat and installation finish your team intends to use.
Use the selected primer and coating instructions to agree sanding, sealing and coating preparation. Include shaped edges, cut ends, joints and fixing holes in the finishing plan. A representative finished sample checks appearance, adhesion and touch with the supplied surface condition.
Choose joints, fixing positions and installation adhesive around the profile, supporting surface and site conditions. Check available fixing space and edge distances on the cross-section. Try adjoining trims and a representative corner or length joint with the planned filling and coating system.
Describe the room's humidity, cleaning and likely exposure. Select the appropriate MDF core grade, coating, protected ends and joints, and installation clearance for that use. Keep the service conditions with the product specification so the supplied trim and installation details are reviewed together.
Keep mouldings dry, flat and evenly supported along their length. Use clean separators, profile and end protection and controlled strap positions. Bundles are identified by profile, supplied length and quantity, with packing groups agreed for your receiving or installation sequence.
Send the section drawing or sample reference, dimensions, supplied finish and the details you want to assess, with your delivery address. Samples are free; you pay the courier charge, which can be credited against a formal order. We confirm availability, any custom machining or coating preparation and dispatch timing.
Buyer guides
A cut list is most useful when each rectangular MDF part has a clear finished size, quantity and orientation. Add the face, edge treatment and label that your assembly team needs, then agree the dimensional basis.
Read guideA clear CNC drawing helps your MDF parts arrive with the profiles, holes and orientation your assembly expects. Bring the material specification, file revision, datums and tolerances into one component definition.
Read guideThe painted edge often makes the difference between a convincing MDF component and a finish that needs rework. Start with clean machining, then prepare straight edges, inside corners and profiles for the chosen coating system.
