HPL face sheets are available in nominal thicknesses from 0.5 to 1.2 mm, with solid colours, woodgrains, stone and material effects, gloss levels and surface textures selected or customized against an approved physical sample. Standard and fire-retardant constructions are specified separately: the required fire performance follows the selected HPL grade, MDF substrate, adhesive, complete panel construction, classification and applicable test report. A single decorative face normally uses a defined balancing construction on the reverse, selected with the adhesive, pressing process, board format and component design.
